Over 2018 the Laurie Ross team have raised an incredible £28,734.86 for local charities!!
This was achieved through the generosity of our insurers, our suppliers, our people and our amazing customers.
As a community insurance broker we pledged to donate to the charities most loved and voted for by our customers during 2018. As the year is coming to an end we wanted to give you an update on where the money was spent.
Fundraising and volunteering has been a big part of the team year, they walked 25 miles as part of the Glasgow Kiltwalk in addition to volunteering to clean and paint at East Park School. Our fantastic Partick renewal customers agreed to ’round up the pennies’ which added to our target. Overall the team raised a fantastic £2145.26 for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice and purchased gardening equipment and supplies to the value of £500 for East Park School’s new sensory garden.
Our team took part in various events such as The Glasgow Kiltwalk and slept out all night to take part in Action for Children’s Byte Night 2018. The team also donated their time to volunteer in the Action for Children tent at the TRNSMT Festival. All this, including our wonderful customers ’rounding up the pennies’ on their renewal premiums and taking part in our ‘Bonus Ball ‘ competition, helped us hit our target. Action for Children received a donation of £2239.15 and St Vincent Hospice received £500.
Our team took part in various events such as The Glasgow Kiltwalk and attended and took part in a ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ charity night in aid of the foodbank. Our fantastic customers agreed to ’rounding up the pennies’ on their renewal premiums which contributed to us hitting our targets. We donated a fantastic £2772.25 to Glasgow NE Foodbank, £500 to With Kids and Easthall Park Residents Association received £500 which included a £250 insurance voucher for their raffle.
To fundraise our team walked 25 miles in The Glagow Kiltwalk and volunteered to ‘bucketshake’ at local events. They have also been donating to ‘Dress Down’ at work and collecting in branch. Our fantastic customers have also been ’rounding up the pennies’ on their renewal premiums to help us hit our target. We were delighted to be able to donate £2000 to Strathcarron Hospice and the Craighalbert Centre received £500 through sponsorship of a hole at their annual golf day and an insurance voucher for their raffle.
They have been an active bunch this year taking part in Tough Mudder and the Glasgow Kiltwalk in addition to volunteering and branch fundraising. Our renewal customers agreed to ’round up the pennies’ which gave us the final boost to hit our target. The team raised a fantastic £2305.35 for St Andrews Hospice, £500 for PAMIS and they purchased and wrapped £500 worth of toys to donate to Blameless Childrens Christmas Party to allow them to make sure a number of disadvantaged local children receive a Christmas gift.
Through the fantastic efforts of the team taking part in the 25 mile Glasgow Kiltwalk and paying to ‘dress down’ once a month, to our customers ’rounding up the pennies’ on their renewal premiums, we hit our target. The team also took part in a ‘foodrive’ at the local Morrisons and then helped the Foodbank sort the donated items. The C&R Foodbank received more than anticipated with a donation of £2436.60 and both Healthy n Happy and FAB received £500.
Over 2018 we also made donations to the following charities.
Thank you once again for all your support over 2018.
